Ruby Welch Is a motivational speaker, Criminal and Restorative Justice Advocate, Healing Hostess, and Founder of F.E.L.O.N.(Formerly Incarcerated.Empowered.Leaders.Overcoming.Negative Stigmas) After experiencing First-hand the harmful effects of serving 7 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Ruby vowed to educate her community about the disparities of incarceration and its lasting effects on individuals. Ruby began her journey in 2015,with #Cut50, as an Ambassador and Empathy Network Leader before becoming full-time staff as a Justice Organizer. Today, as a Justice Campaign Manager for Dream.Org Ruby is responsible for overseeing State Campaigns, building coalitions nationwide, and working with the Policy Team to develop evidence-based policy solutions aligned with our mission and campaign objectives. Ruby takes pride in her ability to contribute to policy solutions, provide and create trainings, and collaborate across departments. Previously employed with the University of Arkansas for Medical Science, as a Community Health Coordinator, she educated detainees at the Pulaski County Detention Center on various health risks and concerns. Ruby has received several accolades throughout her years of service as an advocate and is honored to be a 2023 JLUSA Alumni of LwC and a 2023 recipient of the NAACP Community Service Award. As an Ambassador for #Cut50 Ruby was instrumental in the passing and signing into law #Dignity Arkansas for Incarcerated Women. Ruby views her work as an extension of her Spiritual Journey.
