Brenda Medina-Maldonado
Transformative Communities Program Manager
Brenda grew up in California's Central Valley surrounded by agriculture and hard working families. She attended the University of California Santa Barbara and in 2013 received a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in Linguistics. After being in the workforce for a couple of years she decided in 2018 to go back to school to learn as much as possible about climate change. While at Santa Monica College she completed an A.A. in Public Policy with an emphasis on the Environment and an A.S. in Recycling and Resource Management. To round out these degrees she also got certified in Organics Aide and as a Sustainability Assistant. Looking to further her active involvement in promoting positive changes, she worked as the Student Greening Program Director at the environmental education non-profit, Sustainable Works. Through this experience she found that the key to change is through community focused movements that center people and purpose. By joining Dream.org Green For All she will continue to expand her community work through ongoing and new partnerships to best serve communities.
