Dream.Org Launches “We Dream” Podcast to Reimagine America’s Justice System

January 20, 2026

The latest episode of the newly launched podcast features voices from the frontlines in Minneapolis for a conversation about the intersection of immigration and America’s criminal justice system

Oakland, California - January 20th, 2025 - The national non-profit, Dream.Org, has launched a brand new podcast, We Dream. Hosted by Dream.Org’s Chief Advocacy Officer, Janos Marton, the podcast invites policy experts and advocates across the criminal justice, environment, and tech spaces to discuss what it truly takes to build a world beyond prisons, poverty, pollution, and polarization.

The podcast’s first season, “We Dream of a World Beyond Prisons”, is focused on dissecting the highly anticipated “crime bill” expected from the Trump Administration and its harmful impact on the future of the criminal justice system. Janos has been joined by experts such as Udi Ofer, Founder of the Smart Justice Campaign, Erin George, National Director of Policy at The Bail Project, and several policy experts from Dream.Org.

“We're doing a podcast about a bill that doesn't even exist yet but we really want it to get ahead of the curve,” says Marton, “(This) bill is probably going to be one of the centerpieces of the midterm elections and is a potentially very dangerous bill that will not only lead to a lot more people winding up in federal prison but could also deeply entrench the powers of a very political Department of Justice. We want to let people know what's coming, but we also want to give people an opportunity to organize, to get together and to push back, and make sure that their legislators know that this is something they need to fight against.”

In its most recent episode, Janos touches on the ICE occupation in Minneapolis with two local formerly incarcerated justice advocates, Elizer Darris, Executive Director of the Minnesota Freedom Fund, and Moncies Franco, former Valedictorian of Dream.Org’s Dream Justice Cohort now working for the Health, Homelessness, and Criminal Justice Lab. They speak on the intentional targeting of Minnesota by the Trump administration, and the intersection of immigration and criminal justice at this moment.

To listen, “We Dream” is available all on podcast platforms.
