At Dream.Org, we know that those who are closest to the problem are often those closest to the solution. That is why we are proud to host the Dream Justice Cohort, a training program created to provide justice-impacted leaders with the skills and tools they need to change the criminal justice system, such as how to be an effective organizer as well as campaign, advocacy, and media skills.

This year marks the fourth year of our cohort. We will be joined by our talented staff, as well as previous cohort graduates, to provide the most up-to-date and innovative training for leaders across the country.

Dream.Org has a track record of success in developing leaders in the criminal justice reform movement who have gone on to lead historic victories at the local, state, and federal levels—including the passage of the First Step Act and Dignity for Incarcerated Women Legislation in 14 states, as well as progress toward reducing the footprint of incarceration nationwide.

The cohort is designed to empower cohort members to advance solutions that reduce incarceration, reimagine justice, and make our communities safer for everyone.

Over four months, you will learn critical skills such as:

  • Building an organizing strategy
  • Legislative advocacy
  • Hosting an online or in person event
  • Strategies to escalate campaigns over time
  • Digital organizing using social media, virtual events, and other online tools
  • Graphic design and content calendar building
  • Spokesperson and media training, and more!

Cohort training sessions will take place between June and September 2024 including both in-person and virtual sessions. Applications close on May 3rd at 11:59 PM PST

If you are newer to advocacy or have a few years under your belt, this is the cohort for you. Join this community of history-makers.
