Funding your climate projects just got easier - here’s how!
Unlock Climate Finance: Dream.Org Launches Curriculum to Support Community-Led Innovation
The transition to a clean energy future is here, and historic funding is still available to support communities. But navigating project finance and moving from idea to implementation can be complex—especially for grassroots leaders who are often left out of the process.
Dream.Org’s Transformative Communities team is excited to launch Climate Finance: A Path to Impact—a new, self-paced online curriculum designed to equip local leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to turn climate infrastructure ideas into fully funded, impactful projects.
Tap into Public & Private Funding Sources
While parts of the Inflation Reduction Act have been awarded, some federal climate funds are currently frozen—leaving communities in limbo. Now is the time to build the skills, strategies, and partners needed to navigate the funding landscape and be prepared for when funds become available.
Beyond federal programs, private capital and impact-driven investments are flowing into clean energy and climate infrastructure projects. This curriculum equips you with the expertise to tap into both public and private funding sources, ensuring your project is financially sustainable no matter the shifting federal policies.
With this training, you’ll be ready to pursue funding from programs like:
- Coalition for Green Capital’s Clean Energy Accelerator Program
- Climate United NEXT Program
- Power Forward Communities’ Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) Programs
No matter where funding comes from, preparation is key. This course provides the knowledge and tools to navigate project financing, secure investment, and bring climate solutions to life—even in uncertain times.
Building Capacity for Change
Through our work with community-based organizations across the country, we’ve seen how access to knowledge and technical assistance can be transformational. Raquel Garcia, Executive Director of Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision (SDEV), experienced this firsthand:
“With my tenacity, spirit of collaboration, and dedication to creating a healthier Detroit, it’s fitting that I was featured in Dream.Org’s Make it Real photojournalism campaign for my work with SDEV. But working with Dream.Org Transformative Communities goes beyond sharing my story and photos. The organization also helped SDEV develop its vision. Dream.Org provided tools for writing better grants, sponsored a fellow to work alongside our staff, and connected us with national partners and other like-minded grassroots groups.”
Briana DuBose, Executive Director of EcoWorks, saw the power of tailored support when we helped her organization successfully secure a $20 million Community Change Grant:
“Dream.Org’s Transformative Communities provided technical assistance to help EcoWorks apply for the Community Change Grants Program—our organization was chosen as the lead applicant and won a total of $20 million. It’s a game changer for our vast array of programs and will dramatically help us build capacity and hire more people.”
These success stories highlight the urgent need for community-driven climate solutions—and the importance of equipping leaders with the resources to make them a reality.
