Nisha Anand is a current board member and former CEO of Dream.Org.
Nisha’s journey as an activist began with bold action, including her 1998 arrest in Myanmar for distributing pro-democracy leaflets. She went on to earn a master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University and has since been featured in outlets like CNN, The Hill, and Fast Company for her work uniting unlikely allies to drive social change.
During her 13 years in leadership at Dream.Org, Nisha lead a diverse team working to close prison doors, open doors of opportunity, and build a world beyond poverty, pollution, and polarization. She is known for her viral TED Talk, The Radical Act of Choosing Common Ground, which has inspired millions to embrace collaboration as a tool for progress.
When she’s not working, you’ll find Nisha in Berkeley, California, keeping tabs on her adult children and their rescue hound. She’s held her spot on the local soccer team, the Galacticos, for 18 years, and when she’s not on the field, she loves giving old furniture a fresh start.
