Justice Next Cohort FAQs
Who is eligible to apply?

Dream.Org is an equal opportunity/affirmative action organization. If you are newer to advocacy or have a few years under your belt, this is the cohort for you.

Therefore, the eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Black & Brown (BIPOC) young adults between 18-24 years of age as of the application deadline.
  • Lives in Sacramento or Sacramento County or neighboring counties

And (one of the following):

  • Justice Impacted (impacted by the legal system) 
  • Indirectly Impacted (Family Member, Significant Other, Friend)
  • A supporter of Justice Reform
  • A supporter of Climate Justice

Friday March 22, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST

How will I be notified about the status of my application?

Notifications are sent primarily via the email you submitted in your application. Every applicant will receive a notice about their application.  If you are not contacted within 2 weeks of your application, the email you submitted included an error.

What is the timeframe of the cohort?

The training is scheduled to occur from April 17 -June 8, 2024 and the graduation is scheduled on June 9, 2024.

Where will the cohort take place?

The model for the cohort between in-person and virtual meetings. There will be 3  in-person weekends (April 19th-April 21), ( May 25th-May 26th) (June 8th-June 9th) and 1 virtual orientation will take place on April 17th. The in-person locations of the cohort will be announced to those selected at orientation. Below are the dates:

 In-Person Training Dates

  • April 19th - 9:00AM-5:00PM
  • April 20th - 9:00AM-5:00PM
  • April 21st - 9:00AM-3:00PM
  • May 25th  - 9:00PM-5:00PM
  • May 26th - 9:00AM-3:00PM
  • June 8th - 9:00AM-5:00PM
  • June 9th Graduation - 10:30AM-4:30PM 

Virtual Training Dates

  • April 17th Orientation - 5:00PM-6:00PM
Will travel be financially covered?

Transportation will be covered if needed.

Will meals be financially covered?

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be covered by Dream.Org

What are my responsibilities if I am chosen as a cohort member?

All cohort members must attend all training sessions (in-person and virtual). Every cohort member will be paired with a mentor who they will be required to meet with on a biweekly basis.
